All four sections of concrete track base have now been laid together with the base for the Y point.
The construction of the retaining wall is now complete at last.
Both sets of points, required to connect the new outer loop into the inner loop, have been completed and installed. Building up of track panels and subsquent installation has now been completed. The track has been gauged throughout and is ready for ballasting once kerbs have been installed. A trial run on the new track has been completed successfully.

Public running has been carried out on the new loop. It has been established that the petrol hydraulic loco can cope with two loaded coaches however the Wren can cope but with a lighter load, that is two coaches but not fully loaded.

20 tons of ballast has been delivered and ballasting of the first section of track has commenced. The next job will be the construction of the new platform at the top of the site.

Further work on the turntable and ground level steaming bays is in abeyance until all work on the outer loop is completed.

The second driving car, this time for the Wren, has been put into abeyance as there are more pressing jobs that need to be carried out.

It is now understand that the "Enid Blyton Noddy" event will not be held in 2010 as well as our non attendance of "Day out with Thomas Events". This will mean for the first time for many years we will not be attending any event at Elsecar Heritage Centre.

Improvements have been made to the springing of the loco in addition to a general servicing in time for the new running season. A design is to be investigated to fit a two wheel bogie to the loco. This is to reduce the amount of wear on the driving wheels and on the rails.
